LEPAS, the premium automotive brand launched by China’s Chery Group, is accelerating its global expansion and is set to arrive in Romania next year. The brand made its global debut in April this year, with the first international rollout following in July.
Its name blends two English words, LEAP and PASSION, reflecting a philosophy that aims to move premium vehicles beyond being “cold instruments” and turn them into essential elements of an elegant lifestyle.
Its Leopard Aesthetics design vision draws inspiration from the agility and natural curves of a leopard, combining dynamic lines with balanced proportions for a mix of raw power and refined presence.
The approach is embodied in the L8 SUV, which channels the explosive energy of a leopard in motion while maintaining a premium, understated stance. Beyond design, LEPAS leans on advanced hybrid technology.
The brand’s Super Hybrid system achieves a thermal efficiency of 44.5%, placing it among the global leaders. The setup delivers 4.2 liters/100 km fuel consumption and a combined range surpassing 1,300 kilometers.
Over the next three years, LEPAS plans to introduce five new models across key market segments. The L8 will hit the market in Q4 this year, followed by the L6 and the more youth-oriented L4.
