Nibiru, the 1.6M sqm seasonal city aiming to redefine the Black Sea entertainment economy

MedicalNibiru, the 1.6M sqm seasonal city aiming to redefine the Black Sea entertainment economy

Spanning 1.6 million square meters, Nibiru aims to move beyond the traditional seaside-resort model and establish a high-capacity, multi-industry ecosystem built for tourism, events, creators and digital-first brands.

At its core sits Nibiru Arena, projected to become the largest open-air club in the world, with a capacity of 30,000 people. A second venue, a multifunctional structure for 150,000 spectators, positions the city as a large-scale events hub designed to attract major concerts, festivals, sports competitions and global cultural productions.

The masterplan integrates an open-air mall, a fashion district, amusement parks, family zones, culinary areas, art installations, education hubs and sports facilities. All districts are connected through a signature promenade designed by architect Joshua Cox.

Starting in 2026, Nibiru is expected to operate on an extended season of over 150 days, hosting exhibitions, conferences, fashion shows, creator residencies and entertainment programs. The project pitches itself not just as a resort, but as a content-generation platform, complete with production studios, filming infrastructure, creator labs and collaborative spaces.

Nibiru also plans to support local creators, designers, HoReCa operators, artists, architects and athletes, building a diversified economic engine beyond summer tourism. Early projections estimate over 3 million visitors per season, with an average daily spend ranging from 100 to 150 lei per person.
